Why Cabin Creek?
Who is Cabin Creek?
Debi & JT

Cabin Creek was formed to offer our personal and private properties as special vacation rentals. All the cabins included have been designed, constructed, furnished, and decorated by Cabin Creek so that we could ourselves truly enjoy the scenic beauty, peace, solitude, and wildlife each has to offer. As our own special getaways, you can be assured that you will also find each of our properties to be your “own special getaway”.

What

Do I Need - Since these are our homes, they all come completely stocked with your basics (bed linens, towels, cookware, kitchen condiments, paper goods, detergents, soap, etc.). We don’t like packing any more than you do, so a few clothes, some food, drink, and a good frame of mind are all that you’ll need. Of course a fishing rod, skis, or your cowboy hat might be nice additions to your luggage.

Is There To Do – Let us know what you have in mind, and we can get you pointed in the right direction with just about any activity. We are long time Montanan’s and have enjoyed a lot of what this State has to offer. Regardless if your pleasure is fishing, hunting, golfing, dining, hiking, skiing, rafting, horseback riding, rodeo, drama, site seeing, or shopping we can get you the information necessary, or make personal recommendations from our experiences to make your vacation a special occasion

Services Do You Provide – We have our homes professionally cleaned before and after each stay (these costs are included in our rental rates). If you wish to have cleaning services provided during your stay please let us know, and we can make these arrangements prior to your visit.
We can also arrange catering, and pre-arrival grocery shopping if you’re really wanting to take it easy. Just let us know your needs.

Restrictions Do You Have – Very few, but a couple of important ones. We don’t smoke, so we request that our guests don’t either (at least in the homes, there is a lot of outdoors in Montana, but be careful with your butts).
Kids are welcome at all of our homes, but we would prefer that Fifi and Duke be left home. Horses are welcome at the Big Timber Lodge house. If you have a special need please let us know.

When

Should We Start Planning and How Long Can We Stay – It is always our recommendation to start planning a trip to Montana (particularly for the Summer months) at least 6 months in advance. That will help us help you with the right house at the right time for your enjoyment. Also you need to understand that flights are somewhat limited, as well as rental car availabilities. Good advanced planning will make getting here and staying here a lot more relaxing and fun.
We prefer you plan on staying a week (primarily because you can’t possibly enjoy the place enough in a shorter stay). However, we’ve heard that some people have other things to do besides fish blue ribbon trout streams, hike scenic mountain trails, ski powder slopes, visit Yellowstone National Park, etc. For those of you who fall in that category, we will work the best we can with your schedule and desired length of stay.

Should We Plan On Checking In and Out - It is best to plan on checking in on either a Saturday afternoon or a Sunday afternoon (usually after 5:00 pm). We will work with you on that detail depending on your travel arrangements into the area.

We ask that you check out by 11:00 am of the last day of your stay (this allows us to clean our homes properly for the next scheduled guests). However, we are experienced travelers ourselves, and understand the limitations of getting into and out of this area, so we will work with you to make your schedule work best for all of us.

Is The Best Time Of The Year To Visit - That’s kind of like asking when is the best time to go fishing? There ain’t no bad times, just some might be slightly better than others. Summer is the busiest time, and enjoys the vast majority of tourism and activities. Rodeos, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, and all of the other outdoor splendors that this State has to offer abound.

Just remember, Montana summer is from the first part of July through the month of August. Everything else is some variety of Winter, Spring or Fall, and sometimes it is very hard to tell which season it is regardless of the time of year. Usually, however, September, October, and early November can be simply beautiful (and lets not forget that this may be the best time to fish). The fall colors, the blue sky, and the crystal clear waters really shine this time of year, and are usually highlighted with a white cap of snow on the highest peaks. Fall is easily our favorite time of year.

During the Winter the snow skiing and snowmobiling opportunities in this part of the State are world renowned.

Late Spring is a great time to visit the State with little competition from other travelers. Wildlife viewing can be very enjoyable this time of year with the newborns being very visible. The fishing can also be excellent on many of the areas rivers.

Where

Do We Go To Get There – It is most convenient to fly into Bozeman’s Gallatin Field. Delta, Northwest, Horizon, and United all service this area. The main connections are from Seattle, Denver, Salt Lake, and Minneapolis. Gallatin Field is a very modern, and relaxed airport, and is usually the least of the travelers worries. If you plan on staying at either of the Big Timber properties, you may want to look at your flight opportunities into the Billings airport. Rental cars are available at both airports.

How Much and How Do We Sign Up

Prices - Our houses are priced based on their size, luxury, and the time of year that you may want to stay. Hopefully our website will help you with any pricing questions you may have, but don’t hesitate to call with any further questions you may have.

Reservations - Once you have settled on a house and a date, we will book you on our calendar. To secure your reservation, we require half of the total rental rate at the time of booking. The remainder of your rent, along with our State’s bed tax, and the security deposit is due within 30 days of your visit.
